Great game! Really liked how it evolved.

Delightful

This is freaking awesome. I would love to see this developed into a more robust management/civ game. I could see ants from other, more numerous hills kicking you out of the closer resources, so you have to go farther afield and use recipes to boost your population numbers. Maybe other hazards like birds or poisoned food, etc.

Fun game! I wish once you beat it you could keep playing.

So: issues I had.  Started up on the wrong monitor (not primary) and as it wasn't 16x9 I couldn't read the instructions.  There was no way to quit, as far as I could tell, or bring up a menu, both of which would be nice!  I do realise I'm being picky about a Game Jam game :)

However, I do like the core mechanic, the art style, and the chill play.  Really nice stuff.

This looks so cool! Made me think of infinite zooming quilt. I’ve been working on a “fractory” game as well, since a few weeks before GMTK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiEeVK6LLOk

1. Music is soothing and calm which is great for a relaxed atmosphere of pathing.

2. Favorite moment was attempting to create a close, self sustaining wood pile and realizing that a different recipe could take place, then adjusting the timing to prevent that issue.

3. The nested zoom out/in is always satisfying.

4. The problems are similar to Zachtronics games where you can optimize the solution, however the minimum base solution is a bit too simple. Although I imagine it could grow to be more complicated given more time.

Thanks for the game.

The game is very addicting; I love it. curious what it would be if it was expanded even more!

this game is far too good to end so fast

For those who have broken text on Linux, install `corefonts` with Winetricks.

For some reason, the uppercase letters use a different (and proprietary) font.

I feel like crystals were just not necessary. Fun idea, but it didn't really change the game all that much. The purple stone on the other hand felt way cooler because I kept seeing it everywhere and when I was finally able to use it, I zoomed all the way in and implemented it from there.

Also, in the second to last area, the resources needed to make Space Ants don't increase per ant, making it trivially easy to populate space with ants. It might be a feature, but for me, working to make the previous areas super efficient, populating workers in the next area up ASAP, it felt not as good as the previous areas.

Overall, I had a blast! Good game!

I had the same thoughts, too! The bit where the second-to-last level’s cost wasn’t raising felt like a bug.

Part of me definitely wished the crystals came up more; the purple stone had me going back to rearrange everything which felt great.

Super cool game, thanks for makin’ it! :D

real nice :D... after you got the combination with purple stuff, it's gone crazy from there... basically it could multiply stuff, and create new node closer to the base

i realy enyoed it, great game, great Idea!

I decided I like playing so much, I made the final screen as inefficient as possible to give me time to optimize the rest of the game.

Attempted to try this out, however, the first level doesn't allow collection of the right resource (0/5 even as ants return with the resource).
I am missing something obvious?

I had trouble with this too. Here are some pictures to help you figure it out:

Using the recipe of 2 wood placed on top of each other, you can create a new resource pile.

Just keep that loop going, and then you will have enough resources to gather from.

Although I was ref a diff problem, your response was still helpful.

When you zoom all the way in. You can only see two resources (one on the left and one on the right as pictured).

Since I'm colorblind, It was hard for me to notice the one on the right didn't match the one in the center.

Zooming out revealed a 3rd resource on the lower left that worked.

Oh, lol. I answered differently because couldn't comprehend how you could have problems with the actual first level, but zooming in all the way is going to do it! I actually prepared a picture for that too, but I just assumed you were talking about the next level up.

Yup, I figured it was going to be something obvious since there were no other reports of it. Thank you for trying to reply though, it helped me think outside the box (in this case outside my zoom box, haha).

JOO you have won!!!!

I loved this one! Zoom at the beginning is stunning.

It's a pity at the end everything happens too fast. I didn't get to see the effect of the last recipe on the level before the last one. Didn't have time to figure out the path. Recipes with wood and rock are tricky, I coudn't find a way to get more wood, but maybe it's a skill issue.

The game is cozy and soulful. The music is on point, the last level gave me creeps.

Upd.: I discovered that if I never zoom out when the [spoiler] is ready, I get to play as long as I wish. Also figured out the paths for all the recipes.
